This is me

…in 3 different photos that I edited together (thanks to PicMonkey).

It represents paying attention to and looking at the big picture in life. It represents that there is so much out there. It represents that we are all so small compared to the universe we live in. It represents my point of view in life.

Weekly Photo Challenge: An Unusual POV

I haven’t done a photo challenge in quite some time. But today I’d like to share my beautiful Godson with the world. His name is Hudson and I happened to take some photos of him today while his parents were out and I was babysitting.

He is almost a half of a year old! Crazy how time flies, I remember it was just like yesterday getting a call from my best friend that she SURPRISE SURPRISE was preggers! Unbelievable.

And here he is, Hudson Chase, all bubbly as he gazes at the television. Looking at babies real real close is really cool, especially when you can see them starting to understand the world.

Hudson has changed my life. He has opened my eyes. I appreciate him, I love him and I feel so much joy just when I see him smile.

I can’t get enough.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Hands

Jessica Levitt to the left. Me to the right.

Jess took this photo after finishing a little manicure session on National Best Friends Day in New Hampshire!

This is the only pic I have of hands. I could have easily taken another one, but I miss Jessica and I thought this would be a nice little way to say so. I also miss her tiny hands. Okay this is getting weird.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unusual

In New York City – NOTHING is unusual.

These are a couple of my childhood favorites that I found in Times Square that I happened to stumble upon one fine night.

If only Disney characters actually existed and walked amongst us.

I’d say that would be…unusual.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Celebration

YAY LET”S CELEBRATE. If you have never participated in WordPress’s Weekly Photo Challenge, here ya go.

This week I decided to take a different approach. I would like to share my photos through ‘Celebrating the little things.’ My mind immediately went to CELEBRATE FOOD (of course) but not today folks.

A really cool beer cap.

Festive Nail Polish

Going Barefoot.

Chocolate Pizza (Max Brenner's - NYC)...I HAD to put food in here somewhere!

Certainly a 'little thing.' Flowers!!!

A great glass of wine (in Little Italy, NYC). This is my mom!!! Hi MOM!

I hope you enjoyed looking at what I celebrate. It really is the little things in life that get me goin. Especially when it comes to food [chocolate] and drinks [wine].

So this week – take notice & celebrate the little things!!!

XOXO – Casi

Weekly Photo Challenge: Family

I was actually sad when I saw that this week’s photo challenge is Family. Why? Because I didn’t get to spend Thanksgiving with mine. First time in 21 years. It didn’t even feel like Thanksgiving, I didn’t have turkey and most importantly – I didn’t have pie!

Anyways, I realized I took some pictures at The Gold Coast Show Day in September. I remember seeing a bunch of families there, so I figure I would have snapped one. Turns out I have two! These photos certainly do not display my best photography, but they work.

Gotta have a balloon at the fair. Always.

Families! I think I took this photo because I was missing mine.

Just for fun, I’ll post a couple of photos with me and my ‘families’:

My Australia Fam - Logan, Steph, Me (July 2011) We have like 3 pics together from this whole time :/

Mom & Dad (August 2008)

Cats have ALWAYS been a part of my family. This is Izzy (January 2010)

Best Friends. More like sisters ❤ Sarah, Me, Jess (February 2010)

Me, Hannah, Anthony - Brother & Sister (Easter 2011)

These are a few of my sorority sisters - Sigma Delta Tau ! (May 2011)

Wow after putting all of these photos up, I am totally realizing how many great people I have in my life. And this doesn’t even include everyone! Cannot wait to get back home [19 Days] 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Breakfast

The most important meal of the day! I was so excited to find out this week’s photo challenge. Food excites me in general, but breakfast happens to be my favorite because I am always starving when I wake up and I love deciding whether to make a savory or sweet dish. Today – I made a sweet 400 calorie healthy breakfast!

8:04 am : Wake Up

8:45 am : Walk with coffee in hand

10:00 am : Arrive back and make this delicious first meal of the day . . .

So good. So filling. So perfect.

Wondering exactly what’s in it? To start I put about 4 oz. of yogurt in a bowl. If you make this (or eat any kind of yogurt) it is SO important to read the label. Usually Fat Free means the flavor needs to be replaced which means lots of added sugar. Under 10 grams of sugar per serving would do just fine. This is the yogurt that I use & it only has about 6 grams of sugar per serving:

I then added about a tablespoon of fiber. Fiber is perfect for the morning because it keeps you nice and full until lunchtime:

Then I cut up a small banana & added it on top. Bananas are one of the fruits higher in carbs so it’s best to eat them early in the day or after a workout because it’s great fuel for the body.

To finish, I sprinkled about a tablespoon and a half of goji berries, chopped walnuts & unsweetened coconut. Goji berries and coconut both have high levels of antioxidants, vitamins & minerals. And they have the best taste & texture! Nothing better than the Double T’s. And there are not enough good things I can say about walnuts. Between the ever-satisfying taste & crunch, the protein that is energizing & filling, and the good fats that help to flush out the bad fats from the body; the list never ends with this nut.

Now that is what I call perfection.

OF COURSE I finished every last bite. And I am now full and ready to start my busy day (laying by the pool). So remember to eat breakfast every single day, studies show that on average those that eat a daily balanced breakfast weigh less than those who skip it. With so many delicious and healthy options, how can you possibly opt out? Seriously..!

I cannot wait to see everyone’s’ posts from this week’s challenge! If you have yet to join in, c’mon what are you waiting for!? Click this: http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2011/11/18/weekly-photo-challenge-breakfast-2/#more-2427 and get going.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Wonder

I just arrived back to my apartment after snapping what I only thought would be about twenty photos. Nope. Turns out I took 120 without even realizing this. All it took was a nice walk with nice jams blasting from my iPod, through my headphones & into my ears.

So obviously it’s an impossible task to choose one or two. Here are the photos that I like the most:

I wonder how long these tires have been sitting there?

I wonder if the person that left this cart had a hard time carrying groceries the rest of the way home?

I wonder how these trees become so intricate?

I wonder where this man is going?

I wonder how this frog died?

I wonder who sits on that porch and enjoys the beautiful flowers?

I wonder why there aren't as many pretty flowers in NY?

I wonder who these shoes belong to?

Sorry about the gross frog. I thought it was cool because, although I almost stepped on it, it blended in with the ground. As you can see there is a variety from death to bright flowers (ha). The crazy tree vines are so cool, I can’t get enough of stuff like that in nature.

Let me know which is your favorite!

Until next week – Casi-

P.S. I realized today that you see SO much more when taking photos. I walk by the same places many days of the week and today I noticed things that I never realized existed. Simple things.

ALSO, I was thinking that all it takes to create a nice photo is to use one of these factors:

1. Have a unique perspective.

2. Focus on one item (whether it be in nature or wherever & give it the attention that it deserves – even if it’s just a bug).

3. Focus on the big picture (to create a feeling…maybe there is something in there that doesn’t belong, makes the viewer think differently, or creates a statement).
